Thunder Dragon

“Thunder Dragon” is a concept album of sweet medieval folk music with rock and roll melodies that sound otherworldly yet hit close to the heart. The metaphor of the dragon symbolizes where I get my creative fire, that strikes me as loud as thunder seemingly out of nowhere, providing me wotj other-worldly inspiration. This album of 15 songs is a new feat in my exploration of song writing that includes 60s drum kit samples, autoharp, and the bandura – a folk harp that lends bass, and harmony to the warm dreamy melodies. It was mixed and mastered by Joshua Cwintal, an independent producer who is also lending his talents to bring the album to cassette.
Many tracks on this new record were originally electronic songs that I converted to folk music (Game Warden, and the title track Thunder Dragon). The songs tell stories, and bring issues of struggle, existence, and culture into the light, that are new areas that of exploration in my music. Many songs tell stories of dealing with culture shock and are inspired by parts of the world that I am drawn to (Russian Roulette, Canadiana, Turkish Delight and Kingdom of Bohemia). The track Syria is about my Syrian friend
